Stiff Competition

Yeah I'm just going to admit right now that the only reason I'm making this is so I can gush over Mario Odyssey. So we all know Forces has been in development for quite some time, like I think 4 years since the release of Lost World. However, despite that part of me still feels like it should be pushed back to 2018, not because I feel the game needs more work done to it. But because I feel if it's not released in the holiday season, then it may have a better chance of being a huge financial success. I think this because it wouldn't have to compete with other big games coming out this holiday season, and the one I'm specifically talking about today is of course Mario Odyssey. Now it's not secret that Mario is more popular than Sonic, especially now where Mario's still a very respected series, while Sonic on the other hand is well not. So it's pretty easy to see why people are more excited for a Mario game they know is going to be good rather than a Sonic game that could go either. And for this game in particual I can not blame them at all cause while Forces could shape up to be a pretty solid game, compared to Odyssey it just can't compete. Odyssey looks much more bigger, way more fun, and the music will most definitely be leagues better than Forces music. Like the theme song to Forces I've probably listen to it like 15 times since it was released 3 months ago, well the theme song to Odyssey I've listen to it four times that amount in just 3 days. If both game came out the exact same week and I can only afford to buy one of them then obviously I have to go with Odyssey I just have to, nothing Forces can do will make me want to choose that over Odyssey and I feel a lot of people think the same way. That's why I think delaying the game is a good idea cause by then the hype for Odyssey would die down and Forces would be able to stand out on it's own. It doesn't even have to be a long delay like Fire and Ice had, just a couple months would do. Like a good month to release it could be February since there wouldn't be a whole lot of heated competition, cause as of now February's biggest game is Far Cry 5 so it probably wouldn't hurt the game if it was released in that month. Besides even if Forces gets pushed back, Sega would still have Mania so 2017 wouldn't go without one big Sonic game. So those are just my thoughts, Sega could still release the game this year and have it turn out just fine. I just belive that if Sega wants what they hope is Sonic's big comeback to make as much money as they want, then it might be a wise idea to keep it as far away from the game where Mario turns into a fucking T-Rex as they can.
